Virtual Drives And Image Files

In this section i am gonna discuss about image files and virtual drives
Before discussing about storage virtualization first we will discuss about image files

WHAT IS AN IMAGE FILE?

Image file is one type of file format. It is nothing but a copy of a CD or it is simply an image of CD that why it is called as an image file. These image files have extension like .iso,.daa,.img,.nrg etc.These image files cannot be opened directly they require storage virtualization softwares like virtual drives

WHAT ARE VIRTUAL DRIVES?

Virtual drives are nothing but the drives which are used to open these image files.There are many softwares for creating virtual drives some are listed below

HOW TO OPEN IMAGE FILES USING VIRTUAL DRIVES?

1. First download the software and register it using the keys provided from the above links and install them
2. After installing you will find the icon of the software in the quick launch panel as shown below(In this tut i am using poweriso)
3. Now right click on th icon in quick launch and select SET NUMBER OF DRIVES to 1 or more than  1
   
   
4. Again right click on the icon in quick launch and select mount drive and browse the image file to be opened
5. Now go to my computer and you will find the image file opened in the virtual drive. The same procedure implies to other softwares too
